Our Mission
Succulent plants boast incredibly diverse and beautiful forms, perfectly embodying nature’s ability to adapt to challenging conditions. Cultivating these species is a rewarding experience and has become a lifelong pursuit for many around the world. The New York Cactus and Succulent Society serves as a community resource for anyone interested in learning more about these amazing plants.
We aim to share our collective knowledge on best care practices for the Northeastern US climate, promote sustainable production through the propagation of juvenile plants, and expand horizons with excursions to native habitats. We encourage others to embrace this enriching hobby with us and join the NYCSS on our journey.

We hold monthly meetings where members can share knowledge, participate in workshops, and enjoy guest speakers. Everyone is welcome!
